Eliz is a member of Vive Brisbane who has lived with eczema since birth. For the past nine months she experienced the worst flare up covering her whole face. The pain was daily and constant, and it became so hard to manage everyday tasks that she had to quit her job. As the months went on and nothing she tried helped, the inflammation kept getting worse. She describes losing hope and feeling lonely.

About halfway through this period, Eliz joined VIVE Brisbane. The church community walked alongside her, praying with her and speaking God's promises over her life. She says this is where her thinking changed. She describes God building her endurance and giving her peace in the middle of suffering, and she surrendered the situation to Him fully.

End of August, Eliz returned home to Vietnam and began a medical treatment plan at a hospital. She says that during this time she stopped striving in her own strength and rested in God's goodness, and she was healed within five days. Her takeaway is that God is faithful and always on time, especially through long seasons of waiting.

Manu was struggling with family issues, not having a clear path in life and one night in his desperation God spoke to him and urged him to find a church after years without attending. He felt God lead him to VIVE and his life has been transformed through the community and made the decision to get baptized too.

Meet Maria.

Maria has been part of VIVE Mountain View for about 9 years. For years, she and her family had been praying for her cousin in Colombia to have a real encounter with God. They had been sowing, praying, and believing for a moment they weren’t even sure they would get to see.

When Dorothy and Makura first came to VIVE, their sense of fulfillment came mostly from personal achievements and recognition. That worked when life was going well, but whenever hard times came they realized they had no firm foundation. When they first started attending, it was a struggle even to come every Sunday, and church was something they kept "in a box."

As they continued to come, they started to surrender their own ideals and learn their true identity was in Christ, they began to serve and grow as leaders. This showed them God could exceed the limits they had set for themselves. Having grown from single life to marriage to parenthood at VIVE, they now want to raise their son "planted" in the church.

Blake and Macey moved to SF from Tennessee thinking they would only stay for the duration of Macey's PhD at UCSF. During their time in SF, God moved powerfully in opening doors for them to be planted where they least expected!
